Just An Idea...

I was thinking today, I always like having the encouragement when I have a good day, like when someone just posts something as simple as "great job", etc., but sometimes, the statuses (or is it stati?) misrepresent what we actually want. For example, what if the person is trying to bulk up and gain weight? In my case, I am trying to maintain. Couldn't there be a different alert saying, "Arhzon completed his food and exercise diary for 06/05/11 and was within 100 calories of his goal."? If I take a 500 calorie deficit, that means I am failing at my goal for the day, so, even though it's always nice to get encouragement, it still feels a little silly to get a "WTG!" for being 600 calories in the green. I'm not complaining, of course, just a thought.

I think it's a good idea, but it would be good to have it as an option. I'm kind of liking the mystery of people not knowing if I'm over by 10 cals or 1000. Believe me, I've done both!!

I think that might be why they gave us the option of having the open diary. I'm not ready to share mine with people but it might be an option for you.

If people can see your diary, they will be able to see what your goals are and whether or not you were within them. That being said, you make a good point. Everyone is here for a lot of different reasons, so we should try and cater to everyone. I think that having other options for those of us not necessarily TRYING to stay under our calorie goals is a good idea.

Good idea bud. Fitness isn't about just losing weight. Being fit is about staying in shape and being healthy. This is myfitnesspal and not myloseweightpal after all. It would be nice to see more options rather then having an overall focus on one aspect of being fit.

This is exactly how I feel lol! Every time I'm under my calorie goal that is a BAD thing.
