Off again on the road. So this obviously breaks my weekly routine. It would be great to gave mini grocery stores at airports to stock up on fresh produce once arriving at destination.
Plan b is to find something near the hotel (no car rental) that would be healthy.
Cheers all.

Good luck in your travels. The grocery store will have raw pre-cut veggies.0

I'm looking at that challenge here soon too... will be traveling for 5-6 weeks (returning home most weekends, and they are not all consecutive) over the next few months. I don't normally travel, but some of the destinations will be in the US and I will have a rental car. Some of the other destinations will be to foreign countries where I cannot / should not leave the hotel unescorted due to safety concerns and such.
Having said that, my plan is to just try to make the best decision available at that moment in time and play by ear. I'll probably bring some Quest bars and maybe even some protein powder (though I'm thinking maybe not because it is tough to mix if I don't bring my blender bottle, which will add too much bulk to my pack and a I will have to bring pre-packaged to avoid TSA issues probably).0 -
I ended up asking my colleague to get me my veggies LOL She was kind enough to help me out, so... Don't hesitate to ask foe someone to support you in your efforts. It really felt good to stick to my meal plan0

I'm at JW Marriott right now and I had a hamburger off the children's menu (minus 1/2 bun) with a side of fruit. Best I could do poolside! Good luck, work travel is hard but I'm going to look at it as every meal or snack is a new opportunity to make the best decision I can!0

I travel a lot. I would recommend fruit that is easy to travel with and provides you with a form of liquid as well (such as apples). I always have snack bars with me, and I pack in little bags of my nut mix that I have already weighed out. The little packets of instant oatmeal are great. I always try and find out in the morning if I have to eat dinner with a client or staff - that way I can plan the rest of my meals around a higher calorie dinner. I also try and determine where we are going to eat, so that I can determine the calorie content before I get to the restaurant. If I go over in calories, I just park my car further from the entrance to the hotel and get my steps in.0

Got home after 1am this morning; flight was cancelled and had to wait stand-by, staff was very helpful though! So, I took my time, had dinner: angus burger (minus the buns) and a spinach and strawberry salad and I still had some carrots and celery left. It is possible to make good choices. A few months ago my thinking would have been very different LOL0
