HRM

Hey all quick question for smart phone users.
I would love to get a HRM so I could get an better accounting of just what kind of calories I'm burning when I do stuff however - we are on an extremely strict income right now due to my being unemployed for the past 6 months and simply can't afford a decent one that goes around your chest etc.
Is there an app for an iPhone that is good for that. I've tried to search some and while I have found some, I really would like to get the opinions from people here as opposed to the reviews I see on there.
thanks in advance.

I don't know about the iphone apps, but I got my New Balance HRM w/chest strap at Costco for $39.99. Much more affordable than the Polars and I absolutely LOVE it! The only thing that I can't do with it is the chest strap doesn't transmit under water, so it doesn't work when I'm swimming, but for that price I can live with it!0

I could do $40. Thanks for the Costco idea. Now to find someone with a Costco membership LOL.0

Try clicking around on Amazon. I found my sportline for $40.0

I don't really know how an app for the IPhone can take your heart rate and count calories.. I mean, in order to get your heart rate you need some sort of sensing equipment and I don't think the IPhone can do that.
With that being said, you can find some decent HRM's for a lower price point. I personally have a Polar FT7, but I have also heard that the Sportlines from Walmart are good and I know people on here got them for around 30-50 dollars. What your looking for in an HRM is one that has a chest strap and lets you input height, weight, age and sex.. the rest of the features are just bells and whistles that you don't really need unless your looking for a specific feature.0 -
Great thanks!0
