I joined MFP in 2012. I was very faithful until about 7 months ago. I quit logging my food, which caused me to start gaining weight. I am very discouraged with myself. I am pretty active. I actually walk 4-6 miles at least 5 days a week. My problem is I am now eating whatever I want when ever I feel like eating. I know that I go way over my calorie goal. Please help me to get motivated, so I can get back on track. : )

What works for me is watching my weight on a graph. If you can look at your weight regularly and feel happy with it going up, you're much different from me.

OTOH, if you watch your weight without fail (relatively easy to do) you'll soon be motivated to track and lose.

I did the same thing, got to my goal and signed out of MFP, and gained all my weight back. One day I decided that I didn't want to be more and more and more overweight. I decided I needed to stop before I got 40, 50 or 60 pounds overweight because I was heading that way. It would be a lot easier to lose the weight I was at, than letting myself get heavier.

The motivation comes from you, but sometimes it needs a catalyst. Start logging now. And read the threads on here and read about maintenance and way of life. You have one life and only you can choose to eat the right amount to maintain a healthy weight. You had your vacation, paid the price, and it's time to turn the ship around. Today. Now.
  • Thanks everyone, I just need to start logging again and track my weight on a graph then I can actually see my progress. I have done pretty well today. I just need to get serious about my weight and over all health. :)
