Hello Everyone!
I am eager to getting to know everyone, providing support for each other and helping each other reach their goals.
I have a varied background.. though I can say... the data on the videos was all too familiar... even the Krebs cycle from biochemistry!!!
I am a type I diabetic who has become a gym rat. I had been average weight a tad over where I wanted to be but still well within a healthy range for my age and build. I had been through a life changing experience and decided I wanted to change my physique.... My goal was to build muscle and sculpt my body. So I went to a trainer... I use that term "loosely" who restricted my diet to 1000 Cal/day. We used negative accentuated workout 3x/week. I lined up fast bc I had been overworking prior to starting with him.... but.. I experienced amenorrhea and though I was very lean I hit a wall couldn't build any more, workouts were an epic failure and I became very ill.
With all of these factors behind me I went back to working out on my own at a local gym and went to surviving primarily on veggies. No potatoes, rice, bread or pasta.... most of which I don't like any way.. minimal fats.. no nuts, no nut butters very minimal cheese ... and found myself in a bad place.. fats needed for sterol production for our normal hormones weren't there and the lack of carbs leading to issues I am assuming with serotonin... I turned into a sweat soaked gym rat who found herself crying constantly..... So... after a bit of a reality check on what I was doing I started eating carbs and fats.... and found.. you guessed it... I was starved and indulged wayyyyy to much so the fat pad at my mid drift which I was not able to get rid of with my veggie diet grew ... and of course I have become not only unhappy with the way I look but also how I feel. At this point I want to become lean but still build. I LOVE the gym and go there every day..... I just can't give it up..... yes.. I'm addicted.
So that is my story.... and I am hoping.... that this can and will be a life changing experience for me!!
I look forward to getting "to know everyone".
Best,
Linda
