diastasis recti after pregnancy

has anyone dealt with this ? Tips? 7 weeks post with baby number 2 I didn't have it the first time it's about finger b half 2 fingers

I developed it after my first baby and went on to have 3 more children, so I figured it was permanent and never did anything to specifically work on it. After a year of lifting heavy (Stronglifts 5x5) and running, it all but went away. I now have about a half fingertip spot right behind my belly button that's not fused, but the rest is fine. People generally recommend pilates and discourage crunches, but I think the heavy lifting is what strengthened my core without putting my body into a position for the gap to widen (as in crunches).
You're so newly postpartum (congratulations, by the way!), it'll be months before you'll be able to determine the true extent of your diastasis.0 -

@ephiemarie thanks! And good to know I like plain old weights anyways compared to most other workouts maybe that really did help and maybe it is a bit early still I just didn't notice having this at all last time time will tell but I will look into the Pilates too. ☺️0
