Recently signed up and looking for like minded individuals on the same journey. I used to be in good shape but a variety of reasons has led to me gaining a lot of weight (Greed and laziness being the top 2
). I've never been too bothered about it but the past 2 months have seen me put on even more due to drinking/eating out a lot and after stepping on the scales it's shown.
I've already been shopping this morning to stock up on healthier choices and have also signed up for the gym. It's time to do something about it as it'll only get more difficult.
I'm 5'11 and weighed in at 249.6 lbs this morning.
I've broken down small goals/targets of 240/230/220/210 rather than 1 long goal which should at least keep me motivated when I see progress of achieving them. I'll re-assess where I am when I hit that and decide where I want to go from there. At the moment I don't want to have a final weight goal as it depends more on how I'm looking rather than what the scales tell me.
Luckily I have no issues in movements so I can do everything at the gym. I also live beside a variety of paths/canals/rivers which I can cycle/walk along for now until I get fitter and am able to jog.
Now to find a group to join for motivation

Congratulations on making those FANTASTIC steps to a healthier you :]
Forget the past. Okay, so you ate out more often and drank more? I bet you enjoyed every second of it, so forget regrets and don't look back! I spent all of last year over-eating after having quite a nasty eating disorder a few years earlier - I LOVED being able to eat. I LOVED it! Yes, I gained weight and it wasn't particularly healthy but I don't regret my weight gain.
I've lost 30lbs having a sensible deficit and a healthy mindset. You can do this.0 -
I did have a good time doing so yeah. I stay in Edinburgh and we have a month long festival in August which played a big part in going out a lot. I was then away over the weekend just past so figured starting before that fora few days wouldn't be worthwhile.
I actually had this week scheduled as a start date for a while and I'm now quite glad it's here. I don't have anything on over the next few months other than 2 nights away at the end of October (and a couple of events I plan to take the car to and not drink) but I figure if I stick to things until then a couple of days can be seen as a reward before getting back into it until xmas time.
Already been to the gym today and going to go out on the bike/for a walk later as it's a glorious day here today0
