this is the first time i have ever seen you. i'm not sure exactly what you are asking.

my guess is people might take things personally, because they see 99% of the other people pandering to one another and think "i need an ego boost" and then you say "nah." now, if this were a 1 on 1 situation and said "nah." or "no, thank you" they may not take it personally. But, in the sea of "omg! you're hot!" and "10/10 would bang," and "yes," they get one of the very few "no"s then they might think "how awful must i be to not even get an insincere compliment?"

now, obviously, you mean nothing by it. you are just being honest. you both are victims of the insincere pandering and virtual fluffing that takes place in all of those threads. you, because you aren't being dishonest and the other person because they can't even get fluffed.
