My weight is causing medical issues

I am about 70 lbs overweight. I am pre-diabetic. Yesterday I got a CPAP. The doctor said my sleep apnea is weight related. If I lose weight I wont need the machine. I have always had weight problems. My first diet was when I was 9 years old. I was sidelined by plantar fasciitis three years ago and I am finally back to full functionality. I know losing weight will help me. I know I have to or I will have all kinds of bad problems. I don't know why I don't keep to a plan. It boggles my mind. Therapy is not helping. I seem to do alright and then the weekends get crazy and out of control. Any suggestions?

You need to take one day at a time. Baby steps. Start logging your food intake on MFP, do this everyday. Make it a habit. Come hell or high water keep logging. Even if you have a bad day, put your bad day behind you and do better tomorrow. You can do this!! read this

I can totally relate. I have been battling my weight since I was probably 8 years old. Logging all of my food, even when I have a day that I over eat really helps me. Forgive yourself if you have a bad day, and know that tomorrow is a new day and you will do better. I lost 70 lbs in 2012 after I had my 2nd child, but then had 2 more pregnancies back to back and gained it all back. Now I'm -36 lbs and still have a lot to lose (about 60 more lbs)!! I try to work out 5-6 days a week, and I find that finding friends or a fitness class helped me keep accountable. I love the group fitness classes, like Zumba, Core, Dance, don't actually even feel like exercise and are so much fun. Keep snacks around that are high in protein and low in calories. They really help with cravings! Good luck! You CAN and WILL lose that 70 lbs!0

Also- I keep my food diary open (not private) and it also helps me stay accountable because people can see what I eat.0

I was where you are!! I had to make a choice to just keep trying no matter how many times I fail. My motto is "giving up is not an option". I am too important and valuable to my family for me to be so half-hazard about my health!!! You know what, I slipped up a lot!! But never gave up. I began to see patterns to what would set me "off" and did everything in my power to keep from getting into that situation. Eating healthy and figuring out how I can exercise became my full-time job. I have a lot of emotional support from my husband and children. I started back in March and weighed in today 38.5 lbs lighter then back when I started. I almost don't believe it, like it is too good to be true. But I have worked hard, failed hard, and never give up!!! I have about 80 lbs to go and I know it will take awhile, but I will get there. How can you get there? Keep telling yourself that you can do it, you want to do it, the crap food isn't worth it and your mind will start to believe you!!!! You can do it, you really can!!! Btw: I lowered my fasting blood sugar from 95 to 80 in only a few months. It is possible!!!0

I can relate that losing weight is really hard for me. I'm pre-diabetic and I have a lot of weight to lose to get down to 140.
I say getting a hold of the food is the best thing. If you can juice that's really helpful. Also check to see if you have PCOS.0 -
I went to my work health checkup to sign up for insurance. I was MORBIDLY OBESE! I have to pay more for the same insurance. I have planter fasciitis, bone spurs in my heels, high blood pressure, painful knees etc. well I should say had. almost 70 lbs down none of the symptoms, and my bmi went from 44.9 to 33.5, I am almost to the overweight range.
I have done every diet for years, this is NOT a diet. I count the calories, I always have my phone to log, I use a misfit and it just works. Just knowing that losing weight, not pills, not machines will fix what ails you, I hope the switch finally flips for you and you just do it.0 -
Change the weekends so that they are more like how you eat during the week.0
