Need advice!

I've been tracking my calories for 5 weeks straight now and haven't lost any scale weight or any belly fat (nor have I noticed much loss elsewhere). I make sure not to eat more on workout days and tend to underestimate calories list for exercise. My tracking has me at a daily deficit. Even if I'm not as accurate as I should be, I'm eating smaller portions of things that I've been eating and maintaining for a while. At the very least I expected to see some loss after 5 weeks. Any advice, tips, words of encouragement to not give up?

I would say make sure you are measuring/weighing everything right. Also, what and how much are you working out. The calorie defict is what get you to losing the weight but the workout can play a factor. It does for me anyways. You might need to open your diary so can take a look.

Using a food scale? Even if you are eating less, it might be a deficit so tiny that you wouldn't see much of a loss over 5 weeks.

Are you measuring yourself to see inches lost, or just visualizing what you think is different? You may want to start measuring yourself or taking monthly pictures for comparison. Have you noticed that your clothes are fitting differently? Are you measuring your food on a digital food scale to get a better idea of the calories that you consuming each day?

Well it looks like your not using a food scale for every solid. That's the first place to start. Being accurate is going to help you a lot.

You may be aware of your portions, but are you measuring them?

I say this because I have recently started weighing all of my food and the portion sizes I have been usually guessing have been WILDLY under-estimated. I have a lot of common sense but even I was shocked to see that I was over eating by around 300-400 calories some days just because of under estimated calories. I think this is the most likely reason for your weight loss. Really tighten up your logging and you'll see your results :]
