Anyone have any success with adding essential oils like grapefruit, to their drinking water to help with cravings/weight loss?

No..and in fact they are not meant to be ingested.0

I think that is a myth. Essential oils are very concentrated and are intended for external use. I would warn against using them internally. http://empoweredsustenance.com/ingesting-essential-oils/
Add some lemon or fresh grapefruit to your water if you wish, but no magic weight loss will happen without reducing calories.0 -
The only essential oil I consume is olive oil.0

No. An oil will not help with weight loss.
To lose weight, eat at a deficit. There's no quick fixes .0 -
I have heard the scent of citrus oils can help with hunger/cravings, like in a diffuser. Had a coworker put oils in water & they seemed a bit too strong to be drinking.
Maybe just try lemon/grapefruit slices or peels in your water? That seems like a good compromise. You can do this with mint & lavender as well. Make your own tea0 -
I use essential oils, and really like them. There are some that are okay for internal use. You just have to read the labels. I use lemon/grapefruit in my water and like it. It hasn't helped with weight loss, but I do like how it tastes, and it helps me get my water consumption in.0

1) Oils are fat
2) Essential oils are not meant to be consumed
I like essentials oils and I definitely think the smells can help, like citrus in the am, but essential oils will not aid in weight loss.0 -
Some essential oils can be ingested. They must be labeled as such if you are able to add them to food or water. Some have definite medicinal properties - there are many published peer-reviewed studies. Some can be taken sublingually. I add some oil to water, and that has helped with cravings. Of course, that's an anecdotal observation, not intended to suggest you'll have the same experience.0

I use essential oils as a facial moisturizer (rose hip, jojoba and a few drop of lavender) instead of lotions but I don't ingest them.
Tiny amounts of essential oils are found in some foods we ingest and are also sometimes used for flavoring candies and such, but such a tiny amount is used that it is completely different than adding drops of something to your water.
Please be careful as essential oils are very potent.0 -
Ah yes, listen to the MLM out to make some money, telling you what is safe.... Friends don;t let friends drink Essential Oils0

Blakedebo, step down. I'm not trying to make money off of anyone! I don't even make money off of the oils as I'm not signed up that way. I was simply replying Mistapholeezkat and trying to help. Do your research ... you can ingest 100% pure EO's.0

What research is out there showing these oils to aid in weight loss?0 -
I use YL and doterra. I know YL can technically be ingested. I have not done so personally. I use it on my wrists, crown and feet.
idk if it aids in weightloss. but if lemon water does not then i would say that grapefruit oil will not either0 -
Sorry, should have said testimonials. Nonetheless, YL EO's are OK to ingest and I was simply trying to help the original poster and right away I'm "trying to make money". I don't have time nor want to be part of this crap when I'm trying to help. You're the ones missing out on the amazing benefits of EO's.0
