Hi,
I started my disciplined workout about 3 months back. Aim had been to become more fit and lose some unwanted weight - move from overweight to normal category.
On this sunday - I aimed for a real-world challenge - running my 1st 1/2 marathon. A 6K run, Part of World 10K run organized in Bangalore India.
Extremely happy to say that I DID IT.
That too under 30 mins and felt I could do some more.
Amazing feeling and a spring in my shoes. Thanx everyone here. It could not have been possible without being on MFP.
Looking forward to my next - it could be to participate and finish a "10K run" or "50/100K walk". Let's see.

that's fantastic, good for you ! what inspiration.... hoping to do a marathon someday (I like to skate) so I think anyone who does it has a lot of guts .....!0

i'm confused, you ran 6k or you ran a half marathon? 6k would be about 3.5 miles, half marathon is 13.1 miles. i'm assuming you did the 6k in under 30 mins which is a fantastic accomplishment! good for you0

Yes, I did only 6K (apologies for mentioning it as half marathon). I checked later the definition of HF (at certainly is more than that).
Next on target - 10 K attempts on treadmill (prep) for next opportunity.0
