I know working out and getting healthy takes time and patience. My goal is to lose at least 50 pounds before I go back to school in the fall. I know this is possible, but as of lately I've lost all motivation and my support is thin.

Any advice?

50 lbs in 3 months is technically possible, but to put it into perspective, you would have to lose around 4 lbs a week (~16 lbs a month) for this kind of loss. It will definitely take 100% dedication with diet and exercise. Good luck! Keep us updated on your progress... :flowerforyou:

It's possible but not really a healthy way to go about it. I've given up wanting to be 'such and such weight by this date'. It isn't a race. I'd LOVE to be almost at my goal by the time I go back to uni but I know it's not going to happen. Instead i'm dedicating my time to learning how to make healthier choices so that when all the weight does come off i'll keep it off.

As others have said, it is do-able but you're going to have to stick to your diet and exercise plan. I don't have a "Goal" time mainly because I know I'm going to have days when I just want nothing but carbs and sugar, mmmm sugar. So instead of saying "I have X amount of time to lose X amount of weight." I'm saying, "Eventually before I die, I'd like to weight..." which takes a lot of the pressure off and doesn't make getting on the treadmill or picking up an apple instead of a pastry seem like such a forced thing, ya know?

But hey, if you stick with it you can do it and best of luck to you.
