I got a pretty nasty cold, so I took a week break from the gym to recover. I was going 5x a week for a few hours a day, I tried to go back the other day, and I couldn't even bring myself to work out so I left after 20 mins- I'm exhausted- I sleep all day, every day, and feel like I always need to nap. I'm feeling better from my cold- but I'm out of energy and just completely EXHAUSTED.... Could it be because I took a week off and my body's out of wack? It's very frustrating- I want to fry back on track but can't figure out WHY I'm so tired!!!! HELP!!!

you are probably still recovering a bit from your cold. start back slowly..we all can get sort of that lazy feeling after being off..our minds just dont want to work out, and our bodies follow..just slowly get back to it. and you'll be back to normal soon.

if not..then you may have something more serious than a cold..like pneumonia

Sounds like you overtrained and messed up your body. 5x a week for a few hours a day? Way way too much. An effective workout takes 20-30 minutes as long as the intensity is enough to keep your heart rate between 75-85% of your maximum HR. Work smarter, not longer.

Your body probably needs a little more time to recover. Even after symptoms are gone, the immune system is still working hard to get the virus out. Give your body time to rest and take your time getting back into it.

I definitely think you need a bit more time to recover!! Start off slow!

Try going out for a walk, maybe stick a jog in there. Better than doing nothing :-)
