Hi my name is Jaime. I went through a nasty divorce and pretty much did not care what I ate since I maintained 220lbs going to the gym. I was involved in a 4 car pile up, me being the first car, and my back was injured. I could not exericse so I ballooned up to 302lbs. Once I got the okay to exercise again I got down to 262lbs but Torn my peck lifting 495lbs. Now, I am frustrated since I can really lift and exercise the way I use to. I am figuring out my diet now and trying to exercise around my injuries. I am not gimp just can not lift 500lbs and squat 750lbs without hurting myself now. I can bench 405lbs but I can do it but it feels like pins and needles stabbing me on my chest. I am not trying above 495lbs in squat until I am down to a 230 and comfortable with my strength again. I have to relearn my body.

I am not use to being so flabby. I started a plan at 285lbs. I am now at 282lbs and struggling. Right now, I am currently in control of one thing my diet. I am limited by pain while weight lifting. I am guessing lighter and faster. I don't want o be being my 40s above 200s.

    Hi Jaime :]
First of all, I'm really sorry to hear about your car accident and your injuries. It must been very crushing for you to not be able to work-out how you've always been able to. I think the important thing here is - don't take on more than you can physically handle. Your body has been through a lot and somehow you need to dig deep and find acceptance with what happened to you. You are still here and that really is the main thing.

I'd suggest talking to a trainer and explaining exactly what you struggle with, exactly where you feel pain and list out what your goals are. There is a man at my gym that has been in a wheelchair for most of his life and incredibly, he is ripped and in 'better' shape than most 100% able-bodied hardcore gym users. There are ways to stay in shape that won't cause you added injuries, you just need to find your comfort zone.

    You can do this.

Injuries are tough. It sounds like you are doing great with your nutrition though. Feel free to add me as a friend. I am down 86 pounds using MFP.
