Hi everyone! I'm a 32 year mother to one and I'm a hypothyroid patient. It's very discouraging to have this disease and have little to no control over your body. I've gained 22 pounds in the last 3 years. Very frustrating and I can't get my doctor to treat my parathyroid. Anyone else ever had this issue and get results with parathyroid treatment? And it's not just my weight. My hair is thin and lifeless and my sex drive is next to nothing. Please help!

Hi, I have a hypothyroid disease and couldn't lose weight for years. Because of that disease I had problems with my hair, nails, depression, weight, and I was always tired. I even had a miscarriage bc of that. My OB checks my level every month and he gives me levothyroxine. Since I take my meds I've lost 10 lb in 5 weeks and had a healthy babygirl 12 weeks ago. I suggest to go to a different doctor and a specialist. It is very frustrating if you can't lose weight and not only that, you just don't feel healhty and good.

I take Levothyroxin as well. I have for the past 6 years. As long as my medication is well monitored and I am within acceptable hormone ranges, I do just fine. I've lost 99 pounds so far. My loss may be a little slower than someone with a healthy thyroid, but it's still a loss. If your doctor is not taking your concerns seriously, find a new one.
