I have lost a 160 ish pounds in the past year and a lot of people ask me how much excess skin I have and how it affects my life! I was 313 pounds at my heaviest and am now 149 pounds so of
course I have excess skin but ask me if I would rather the skin or the weight it's a no brainer! I still wear bikinis, I don't shy away anymore, I used to be really self conscious of my saggy tummy but it's just a part of my story and a constant reminder of how far I have come!! Hope this helps :)

This totally helps! I ended up with lots of stretch marks and loose skin after my first pregnancy on my tummy and I'm very self conscious about it. But you look amazing!

You may find this will improve over a couple of years. You are young and it takes a couple of years for skin to renew itself. You should also still have plenty of elasticity in your skin because of your age.

The best thing you can do for yourself is to make sure you eat plenty of fruit and veg, and plenty of protein. This will give you the best chance of regaining your skin condition. And obviously, don't put the weight back on again.

Also don't do too much suntanning because this also causes loss of elasticity over time. You may not notice it til you are in your 50s or so but by the time you do notice it the damage is impossible to fix, short of surgery. That said, you still need to get some sunlight for vitamin D but that's not sunbaking.

    Congratulations on losing the weight.

Wow, congrats on your weight loss success. I'm finding that some of my looser skin is slowly improving with time, so it will be interesting to see if your's ends up getting tighter.

And thanks for helping to inspire others to strive to attain the same results!

Wow well done, was this weight loss all through calorie counting? I cannot see the pics not sure why?

There are no pics and her page is also gone. Not sure what that is about.

Me neither, so I guess that the pictures were not MFP approved and the OP didn't like that.

That wasn't her original profile, either. I recognize the avatar, but the name is different and the post count should be way higher.

ETA: found it. Still a mystery what happened, though. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10185168/before-317-pounds-now-150-pounds/p1

Haha, I just found that thread too - I was curious as I remembered her profile pic. That earlier account is deleted as well. Strange.
