How long should I go before recalculating my calorie goal?

I've lost a little more than 8lbs in the last 30 days, and have recalculated my calorie goal once, resulting in about 150 calories fewer than I was allocated previously. I was just wondering if there's a general rule of thumb for this, or any type of guideline. I want to make sure I stay on track with my projected losses.

    I think as you enter your weight loss into MFP, it will adjust for you but I don't know for sure since I've always been about 1250 calories a day since I started, but for my own records, and for exercise calorie purposes, I adjust every 5 pounds or so.

    I thought that too, but I've entered a weight change with each pound, and it hasn't recalculated. Is this just because the difference is so small?

    MFP does the recalculation at 10 pounds.

    Rule of thumb, or what MFP used to prompt to recalculate your goals, was every 10 lbs.

    I recalculate every time I lose weight, though. Even if my loss is in the tenths of a pound. Because MFP recalculates my TDEE every time I lose weight, and though it doesn't adjust my calorie goal the adjustment shows up in my exercise log with the Fitbit TDEE (and Fitbit also adjusts its numbers every time I lose weight).

    ETA: I enter my calorie goal manually, not the guided set up.
