Mindless Eating... Does anyone else do this?

I hate this about myself, but I'm a mindless eater... I eat without really thinking about it.

I've also noticed that I don't like to eat without distraction. I always have to be eating either with someone else, in front of the tv, or while doing something. I can never just sit and eat. It makes me feel so anxious.

Does anyone else do this?

Any tips to stop?

Take up knitting. It's fun and addicting.

not anymore. it's just a habit...any habit can be broken, but it takes work on your part. you just don't do it and find something else to do.

lets just say that most things around my house that get broken tend to get fixed pretty quickly these days....

You might want to check out the wonderful book "Mindless Eating" by Brian Wansink. Not a diet book exactly, but full of insight into eating habits and a lot of help identifying your own bad habits and addressing them. It's a fascinating book I'd recommend to anyone wanting to lose weight!

That was me in the past. It takes some practice but you can learn to eat mindfully. Try to make yourself do it one meal a day. I find I stay fuller longer eating the same exact thing.
