I realize I have come a long way since I started this and sometimes I can see the change people are talking about but my goal weight is only 5 kgs away and I am not happy I don't see the figure I was hoping for and even worse I have been going down hill for a while now thinking that it doesn't even matter it's not happening.
I don't know what I am looking for posting this but I just needed to say that out loud.

So go back to being fatter?

Though, I'm assuming you decided to lose weight because you were unhappy with your previous weight. So pick which one you're more unhappy about? That or learn to accept that your body is never going to be "perfect".

Alternatively, maybe all you need is to do some body recomp and do some strength training.

It's up to you to figure out what's going to make you happy though. Don't go by what other's perception of beauty or perfectionism is though.

What aren't you happy about? And what are your stats?

Maybe you're like me, and lost the weight but not where you wanted to (I affectionately call myself skinny fat). In that case, you might need to add in some weights training to build muscle mass to look better.

Maybe you just need time to adjust to the new you. You could try waiting 6 months once you are at a healthy BMI, and see how you feel.

Maybe you see yourself heavier than you actually are, and are suffering from body dysmorphia, in which case you would need to speak with a professional.

Anyway, it's hard to say without a whole lot more details, but just some food for thought.

Thank you i needed that ..going back to being fat will not make me any happier and I should learn that my body is never going to be perfect as per the standards others think of i decide what makes me happy :)

Give yourself some time to get used to how you look. Your figure may not look like you thought it would, but with time, you may come to appreciate how it actually looks. Also, although some of us look at ourselves endlessly in the mirror and pick away at what we see as less than perfect (for me this list includes more noticeable wrinkles around my eyes but still carrying some fat around my jawline, kinda fat arms even though my collarbone is very prominent now), other people see the complete package, as in "you lost weight, you look great".

I'm sorry you aren't living up to your own expectations, but those expectations were likely built on airbrushed and impossible media images that have taught you what you're "supposed" to look like in order to be happy.

Weight loss isn't a magic wand that gives you a happy relationship with your body or fairy dust that erases negative body image. Those things take time and a different kind of work..

And remember that there are lots of healthy - weight people who don't like their thighs or the shape of their butt or their size of their breasts or how their neck looks in a v-neck.

So celebrate the body you HAVE--not the body body that Barbie and the Disney Princesses say you should have. It's amazing machine, and YOU ARE AWESOME for taking good care of it!!!

If you are only 5kg away then you ahve a ood idea what a difference they will make. You are setting yourself up. Lifting weights is going to have just as big an impact on how you look.
