hello,
new to mfp. My goal is to lose about 15 lbs. Very frusterated with all the info out there on how to lose weight and am not very good at figuring it out by myself. Also don't want to spend a lot of time on the computer and having to plan my whole life around eating. Any support would be much appreciated. I will probably check mfp about 3 times a week. I am a newly vegetarian (6 months) and am having a hard time finding food and recipes that fit my taste. I am going to try to cut out as much packaged food as possible, but I know this isn't going to be easy since I don't like spending a lot of time cooking and preparing meals and also trying to get variety in my diet. I started running last week. My goal is 5X per week and increasing my time by 5 min a week. I want to run to feel better about myself and beable to run an 8k without feeling so tired. Welcome. If you track your foods for a week you should get a feel for what is right for you and what is not. I understand not wanting to be on the computer all the time but that is what fitness pal is about.0

Everyone is different. When I joined MFP I never thought I would be able to log all my food and exercise..then I got an iPhone it was easy. I am able to log everything as I eat it..which is good for me..because the memory is going the older I get..ha ha! I am now able to run on the treadmill too..which has been a great goal for me. I understand your frustration with all the pre packaged stuff. Since I live alone..I try to make healthy choices for myself. I removed all the "bad" food from my house many months ago and now only buy fresh vegetables and foods I know that are good for me. I am also going back to school..so juggling work and that has been a challenge in addition to exercising regularly. Good luck to you! Brand new to this........read about the website in our local paper yesterday. Hoping for success!! I want to lose about 30+ pounds. I've done lots of diets before and always gained the weight right back. I have Heart Disease and had surgery to repair 3 blocked arteries in my heart in Feb. 2009. I NEED to eat healthy and exercise!!! My life depends on it!!0
