Do you add alcohol to your food diary

if it has calories, it goes in the diary... alcohol included0

I do, and mostly I try to plan for the calories by consuming less food carbs for that day so it doesn't hurt my daily intake.0

Yep, I definitely add it! This has caused me to drink alcohol less since I began logging. I'd rather have my calories in solid form. There are days where I don't mind if I exceed my goal with drinking every once in awhile, but otherwise it just doesn't fit as much into my lifestyle. My daily goal is on the lower side and it's hard to find enough room to include it. If I do, it's usually one drink and I try to drink it slowly to really enjoy it!0

I always add my alcohol and mixers the best I can. I don't add spirits as I'm never entirely sure as I can't find the nutritional info anywhere! But if I have a beer or a cider I most definitely add it.0

I log my two glasses of wine every night. In fact, I pre-log them because I know the odds of me skipping are pretty slim. At this point, I'm scared to give it up. So many people have said it hinders my weight loss and I don't want to fade away to nothing...0

I only drink wine few times a week, and sometimes I can go weeks without drinking. I don't drink beer, spirits, mixed/tropical drinks, shots or anything else. I love champagne but it doesn't love me back so I only have a small amount in a special occasion. But I always log it. Actually, I try not to drink wine in a restaurant, unless my husband is willing to share a bit, because the servings are usually more than 6 oz and at home I limit myself to 4 or 5 oz. I don't have that many calories to spare in alcohol and I can handle much drinking anyway, so that makes it easier for me.0

I don't think but that's because I dislike the taste and I hate the tipsy feeling. But if I did, I would log it. It's the same as lemonaide, coke, juice, etc. It has calories and should be logged. I've seen others log it before.0

To clarify for those who don't know: spirits are things like gin, vodka, rum, whisky, tequila. They may make up your shots. They aren't separate things.0

I drink and i am fit. But after a few beers, i forget to log them. Its no biggie, alcohol calories dont count.0

Yup. Like this weekend for example. I had tickets to a special dinner hosted by a winemaker (the kind where the food is gorgeous but not terribly voluminous), and today two margaritas watching football. It's got calories so yes I log it -- but as a rule I'd much rather have food. Two margaritas and nibbles of unhealthy bar food watching football today; I survived and was at a net deficit (under my target) for my weekend anyway.
I previously had a MPF friend who joined and logged a pretty low calorie intake which seemed to be about 80% flavored coffee creamer and alcohol. Like, consistently. I couldn't bring myself to "like" the status when she was under her calorie goal. So I would not want to be like that, and I am actually craving my weekday exercise and food choices.0 -
One of the awesome things about my weight loss (along with 2 close-together pregnancies) is that I'm now a pretty cheap 'drunk'. Or, I don't like getting drunk? Whatever it is, 2 glasses (measured in 125ml cups) of wine and I'm done. If I do have a third I know I'll have a headache in the morning.
As for the op, yes, I log it. I drink mainly on the weekend, beer and wine, and have had no problem losing weight.0 -
I add every thing - alcohol included. Having said that, I rarely drink. I absolutely LOATHE the taste of alcohol. I went out a few weeks ago with a friend and had 3 glasses of wine - 550 calories. Shocking. So to me, not only is it a waste but a horrible tasting waste too! But yes, it'll definitely be logged if I have it!0

I do. A night out can cost me 1000 calories in alcohol alone (usually consumed over many hours, but still). Not to mention the mindless snacking that usually goes with these events. If I didn't track it and try my best to make up for it on other non-drinking days I would have never lost weight.
+1...especially on the mindless snacking that comes along with it. If I'm running low on calories, I'll grab a light beer instead (Corona Light = 99 calories). Usually, I have some sort of spirit while I'm making dinner. Just my thing.0 -
I add it.
I just don't drink much. A cocktail at a special occasion dinner is about the extent of it.0
