Is it Muscle weight?

Hey everyone!
So I'm 20, I'm 5'9 and I've gone from a size 20 to a size 10 in just over a year. My lowest weight was 10st 3lbs.
I work a very active job, go to uni and I work out 3-4 times a week at the gym. (Strength and muscle training)
For some reason now I seem to be putting weight on even though I'm eating 1500 - 1700 calories a day. Doing 9 hour shifts and going to the gym. My weight keeps going up, I've reached 10st 9lb this morning, and I'm wondering whether it's muscle weight from training? As my partner is saying I look no different, just more muscular.
Oh and my BMR is 1569.
What do you guys think?

It's not muscle. Your weight is going to fluctuate from time to time. If your caloric limit is correct and you are accurately measuring your calories you are losing body fat.
Ditch the scales, take progress pictures and take measurements of your body.
p.s. BMR is a load of crap.0 -
You can't gain muscle when on a caloric deficit. So probably no.0

You also can't gain fat in a deficit.
OP - Sounds like you're in a slight surplus. Try cutting 300-500 calories a week or measuring/tracking a little more closely.0 -

Well I'm a massive lesbian so that's not an issue.

Someone mentionned take your measurements. You know where you gain weight first; have you measured and see if you see some inches creeping in?0

Do you weigh all of your food? If you're gaining weight, you're likely eating more than you think. I'd try to tighten up your logging a bit. Can you open your diary?0
