I did the 30 day shred last month and lost 8lbs. ☺ I was at a plateau and I know its not much but I did not follow the diet plan. So I figure 8 lbs is not bad in 30 days. In Oct I'm going to do Ripped in 30 days. Good luck to u.0

I started doing the 6 week six-pack last autumn and once I completed the two levels I have kept doing it on about a once a week basis. It is a great workout and although I previously did circuits in the gym this routine reached places that my own exercises hadn't reached. Oh and along the way I dropped about 8lbs and have lost a bit more since.0

I know the sales pitch for 30 DS is something crazy ( 20 pounds in 30 days)..........but here's a reality check:
Pound per week goals
75+ lbs set to lose 2 lb range
Between 40 - 75 lbs set to lose 1.5 lb range
Between 25-40 lbs set to lose 1 lb range
Between 15-25 lbs set to lose 1 -.50 lb range
Less than 15 lbs set to lose 0.5 lbs range
10 -15 pounds in 30 days....with a total goal of 30 pounds to lose is not likely. Very overweight people lose quickly, not those that are smaller. Don't beat yourself up if you lose a "normal" amount of weight. It's all good.0 -
I was thinking about dusting mine off and starting it again. I done it a few years agao and was great for overall, fitness, stamina and toning. I couldn't tell you how much I lost as it was ages ago but I def would recommend her dvds, also Shred and Shredder i think its called and Ripped in 30! all are hard but they get easier the more you do it and its worth it! have fun!0

Thank you for sharing...sometimes it's disheartening to use these workout videos knowing that the promises aren't really made for everyone. But I guess there are here as a guide to keep moving consistently. I am using YouTube for 30 day shred, do you know how to find level 3 or the eating plan? Or do you have any suggestions as to "how to eat" to maximize results? Right now I'm just doing smaller food portions. I don't follow any specific diet trend. Thanks for your help!0 -

The 20 pounds in 30 days promise would be a miniscule portion of the population. It's not that they are "not for everyone"....they are for almost no one.
I've never seen the "plan" either. All the TV personalities have a different spin on how to lose weight. That spin is something they market. Buy a DVD, join her website for $$ and you will get the "plan." But the reality is they are all calories in vs. calories out.
30 Day Shred is a high impact circuit workout.....plenty of those existed pre-Jillian (it's not a novel idea) she just had a good marketing plan and was currently on TV.
I do workouts I enjoy doing because I want to be more fit. I eat less of foods (that I enjoy) because that's what I will need to do to maintain a weight loss. All the TV personalities claim they have something that is "more effective"....Bob Harper's Skinny "plan" is 800 calories.....ridiculous.0 -
True. True. True. I was doing old school tae bo this summer, but switched to 30DS for a different workout feel. Calories in vs Calories out is what I will stick to. Thanks!0

Sweet! I've got a couple more days of level one and I can already see a difference. I've been at a plateau for way too long. Nice reading this!! :]0 -

Thanks for that info. It's quite useful. I am hoping to lose around 1-2 pounds a week and my 30 Ds is def not 30 days. Lol. I used to hit the gym quite rigurosly before my baby was born. I used to do strength training 3 days a week but they were never like this. I used to do bench presses and dead lifts. I kinda miss them.0 -
I did it after I had my second baby. I only did it for 15 days strait. After the 15 days I had lost 7lbs and eight inches.0

i love jillian micheals dvd
the 30 day shred is great and you will see a change0 -
I am currently doing my second round of 30DS. I didn't measure before I did my first round but I got noticeable results. It was all I was doing at the time too. Now I am doing a second round and an hour of other hiit. A girl on my friend list has done 3 consecutive rounds and has lost 20 lbs. Since I started here at mfp, I'm down almost 20 lbs but I can only credit shred to some of that lost because I have been doing other working out. I also just bought RI 30 and 6W6P, and plan to expand my collection.0
