I posted a picture on Facebook a year ago and taking a good look at it, I realized I was well on my way to a series of heart attacks, strokes and a number of other ailments. At 56, it was time to make a change. Like most people, I searched for a calorie counter in the app store and found MyFitnessPal. I've logged in every day for just over a year. I'm not sure how successful I would have been without this app and a FitBit. I've still got about 30 more pounds to go an I have all the confidence in the world that I will get there by year's end. For now, I think I'll go change my profile pic to my "almost after" pic. Here's hoping that you're all successful in your weight loss and fitness goals.

Great job and an incredible accomplishment in just one year. I'm also over 50 and agree that health worries are a great motivator to get started...but then you stay for the skinny jeans
