I think it really depends on your fitness goals and your motivation. I did all sorts of different things before I tried Crossfit. I even had a trainer for a couple years (and that is more expensive). My main struggles were consistency and pushing myself hard enough. The community aspect of Crossfit has solved both of those issues. For the first time in my life I am working out regularly, and I am in the best shape of my life.

I decided to try Crossfit because my fittest friends did Crossfit. I was coming off of a couple injuries and completely fed up with being the slowest, fattest, most out of shape person in the group.

I love Crossfit because it is functional, varied and completely bad *kitten*! (I mean who doesn't love throwing a bar bell around. The satisfaction of dropping the bar after a lift is probably one of my favorite things about Crossfit) I Crossfit so I can do the things I love and to burn off the crazy. I need to be able to throw around a 417 lbs snowmobile, put a 40lb pack on and go for a 25 mile backpack trip.

It is expensive in comparison to a gym membership. But if you go and love it, it is so worth it.

Thanks for the information jbuck93. It sounds like the push I may need to get back in shape.

Do you want to try it? If yes, do it. If not, don't.
