I struggle with depression and am on antidepressants. It makes losing weight very difficult. Anyone else with the same struggles?

@khanks1963 I don't struggle with those but you know what, you have an incredible fire inside of you. Think of all the good you do daily and love you posses. Now use that love toward yourself and don't lose sight of it.

You can do this! Keep the faith!
Positive energy and vibes to you!!

Thank you, Chub! I do feel good about myself. My depression is physiological, and the meds cause weight gain. Basically, I get to choose between being fat or being depressed.

You're very welcome! Have you tried any books? I know it sounds a little crazy but I saw the famous "The Secret" movie and it helped so much.

I have a thyroid disorder so my moods were pretty whoa for some time and depression was once something I fought with.

This movie definitely helped me push forward in anything* I wanted.

    You got this!! <3

@khanks1963 Please don't choose to stop taking the antidepressants. You are entirely correct when you say depression is physiological. It will be difficult to lose weight but maybe you can discuss alternative medication with your doctor that possibly has less of an impact on your weight, or ask if it is safe to start a medical weight loss program where they provide medication to assist in weight loss. If nothing else, start a consistent workout routine doing something you enjoy like racquetball or swimming, and add strength training to change the way you perceive your body. Set small goals and take body measurements, and celebrate any progress, no matter how small.

Whatever you decide, please hang in there. It's hard, but every day you keep trying (in regards to weight loss or general life challenges) is a victory.
