What, specifically, are you looking for? Work out clothes are the only thing I generally don't have trouble finding. I get most of my stuff at TJ Maxx or outlets. XS at the Nike outlet is pretty small.0

old navy and althleta both have petite workout clothing0
-
H & M have really trendy kids range. It's also very cheap. I love the range.0

Well, I live in a rural area, so I'm out of luck locally. I have bought from Old Navy online. Will look at Athleta. What is H & M?0

Thank you very much.0

Eddie Bauer? That has got to be a joke. Everything in that store is made for people 6 ft tall or taller. I also find Old Navy's sizes to run really large. Athleta has a good petites sizing, but their stuff is so expensive!0

I couldn't agree more, but you still need stuff that fits.0 -
Brand wise, Odlo and Gore are my faves with Nike running in third place due to better technical fabrics and styles but all great brands that do sizes for women with small frames. H&M is a great UK brand that has a significant global presence. I am guessing not rural USA if that's where you are. Buy online with a good returns policy?0

Sorry, yes should have said H&M is in UK but didn't know if it was also overseas.0

Children's section. Women's running shorts are made for amazons!0

It's in Canada and the US too.
Lululemon is pricey but has pants in all lengths and their tops run small.
The kids section in old navy is great for petite adults....generally cheaper too

Costco, legs, bras, & tanks.
Now if only I could find size 34 (2 kids US/Can, 1-2UK) footwear I could stop wearing pink hello kitty.
Cheers, h.0 -

How would I know what children's size to get?

I get bombarded with tween activewear ads, even though my lovely granddaughter has already outgrown their sizing. The outfits are so cute and I have no-one to share them with.

Oh no! My mother wears the same size. She has a miserable time. I have small feet, but at least I wear an adult size. I inherited my mother's stature, but I am really glad I did not get her feet. I feel for you!

If you have a Sports Authority - or a Dick's Sporting Goods store - or something comparable - check out the Youth section. I'm petite - and that's where I shop. I never have to shorten pants/leggings - and everything in the Youth department is a LOT cheaper than it is in the Women's Department.0

We used to have Dicks, but not anymore. All we have in Dunham's. I haven't actually looked in there for clothing.

Same way you know with any clothes: you try it on. I wear a medium in children's.

Depending on you overall size, you might be able to shop in the teen boys' section at Target. I have bought several tops from the teen boys' section. I usually wear a boys' medium. I'm apparently the size of an 11 year old boy.0

I'm 4'11.5" and I've found workout clothes at walmart and such. I just don't buy full on pants since they would be too long. I get shorts or capris. The recent capri ones that I found are basically long enough to be pants on me. The work out shirts seem fine though. I like the tighter, sleeveless ones for lifting so the material isn't in my way and not much is hanging over my shoulders. Department wise, some places also have teen exercise clothes now. I noticed some in Khol's and Macy's.
Teen boys might work. Some of the shorts were quite durable (or at least they used to be). I still have a pair I got back when I was in junior high and played basketball, though it's too big for me since I lost weight. That section probably wouldn't be bad if you prefer plain t-shirts too.0 -

I was asking because I would be buying online, making it difficult to try things on.
