Weight Loss Struggles

I used to try fad diets to lose weight fast but they never worked and they so hard to stick to I never lasted more than a day. I'm extremely overweight and just wanted the pounds to melt off. I go through days of "I can do this!" And self motivation but then I get lost and distracted. My friends are all tiny and don't excersise and commonly go out for treats, no motivation from there and my family just isn't quite into it. I find myself lacking the motivation I need to push myself. Any tips on how to motivate myself to get off my butt and work on the me I want to be?

How much do you feel you need to lose? Your pic looks very nice!! Start small, something you can easily maintain, maybe cut back on one pop/beverage a day and switch that to water. Next week go for a second, etc. Try moving an extra 10 min a day, as that becomes easy add 10 more. You have to want it for the right reasons or it's not going to happen. Love yourself as you are, and slowly change your lifestyle.
  • Well my goal is appx to lose 100 pounds healthily. But it's so hard. (Thanks on the pic) maybe that's a good way to start!! One bit at a time.

I was in the same boat as you. I ended up overdoing it and not getting anywhere. Baby steps will take you anywhere if they are in the right direction. I was doing way too much exercise and wasn't tracking my food.

You can be like your friends. You can still have treats, but you just need to balance them with healthy food and exercise. Treats are called treats for a reason. Treats are not things you have several times a day, but maybe a few times a week/month/year. You can eat what you want as long as it fits into your calories. I believe in you, because others believed in me :-)

I always wanted the easy way too. You have to accept that it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change. I would suggest getting a food scale and weighing everything that you eat. All of it. It was a real eye opener to me what the foods I was eating really contained. I didn't cut anything out, I still eat 'junk', just less, and I stick as closely as possible to my calorie goal. I would also suggest not trying a too drastic deficit right out of the gates. That's just setting yourself up for failure. I've lost 15 lbs through just diet in under 9 weeks, and its still just falling off. It will feel painstakingly slow at times, but really it's not. It's healthy weight loss and more likely to stay off. Feel free to add me as a friend, I'm not an expert, but I can try to help you stay on track!

I want the easy way, too. If it existed outside of a meth habit, I'd have found it. Scratch that, I was watching a program on drug use the other day, there was a fat meth addict. I'd be her. Guaranteed. I'd be that one poor fat meth user. They had a chubby heroin/coke addict, too. That would also be me.

So anyways...you have to do your research, experiment, and find the easiest way for you. No illegal drugs or anything else that might kill you or get you locked up, though!

I'm sure prison food is so nasty it works for weight loss for some people, it doesn't seem like a good way to go.
