I ate a TON and skipped exercise--why did I lose weight?

So I have been WAY over my calorie goal almost every day for the past week. I have been eating cookies and other sweets and carbs and gone way over on sodium intake. So why did I loose 3 lbs? I have heard of a lot of people who lost weight when they started eating more calories, but I didn't just eat a couple hundred more calories, I ate up to 1,000 more calories! And alot of crappy food! And I didn't exercise all weekend. Did I maybe just lose muscle weight? The thing is my waist lost like 1/2 as well. I guess that could be muscle though. Is it possible that the effects of what I eat just take a few days to kick in? Is that how it works? Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated! Thanks!

You aren't going to lose 2 pounds of muscle weight by overeating, so no worries there. I looked back a bit and you seemed to be eating fine before, so it's not likely you were starving yourself before. More than likely, it was just water weight.0

Usually if I go way over my calories, I see it/feel it the next day. It may have been enough to jumpstart your metabolism again, but if you keep eating that way, you're sure to start gaining.0
