Happened this morning where I used to work. Two of my friends were injured in the accident. Another died in the tragic accident. Where it ended up is where I used to instruct kickboxing classes.

So scary. You just never know what is going to happen. I cannot even imagine how the driver feels right now. Sorry to hear about your friends. Prayers for all involved.

Part of the reason I left was because of Stanford taking over and unsure of how they viewed the gym side of things. This isn't the first time the driver came up on the doors as there were no impact poles to help block a vehicle from going through. She actually parked one time a couple of years ago on the entrance. I don't see this going well for the gym and this incident may end up having the gym closed from my opinion especially since elder drivers have had more than just one incident in that parking lot. Don't know how lawsuits may be filed based on previous incidents not being addressed.
My two friends are bruised and cut, but otherwise fine physically.

Glad you weren't involved and very sorry to hear of your friends' injuries and the loss of a life. It really is true you have no idea when and where bad things will go down.

Quite a few years ago the same thing happened at the hospital where I work. Elderly confused driver came barreling through the main ER entrance glass front. Injured several people really badly (thankfully they were already at the hospital!), but it still took an eternity and another similar but less major accident before any sort of barricade was installed.

Sounds like they better lawyer up.
It's Stanford. I'm more than sure they have some of the best attorneys in the country. Doesn't sound good for them though.

One got stitches for all the glass that fell from the mirrors behind her. She's fine physically, but still freaked out about the accident. One that I thought was there, wasn't. I saw her this morning and she actually signed up at my new gym since the other is closed down right now.
