Water Intake tips?

I am having trouble remembering to hydrate. I used to NEVER drink water and you can imagine what that does to the body. Now that I am trying to drink the proper amount of water I find that because I never drank it, I don't think about it at all. I tried water apps like "Water your body" but they just are not working. Does anyone have tips on how to remember to hydrate or consume the correct amount of water?

carry a water bottle around with you. i carry a refillable water bottle with me pretty much everywhere...
also, there isn't a correct amount of water...what is appropriate is going to vary from individual to individual...the whole 8 glasses per day is just a really generalized guideline. just stay hydrated...

Make sure your pee is lighter than any color below the red line.0 -

I have a glass on my desk, an insulated tumbler with a straw and a lid by my bed, and another tumbler in my car. I try to keep them full always and I reach and take a sip whenever I can. By the end of the day (and even overnight) I have consumed about 3 liters.

Sometimes I put a water bottle at my bedside if I wake up very dry. This early morning water helps me keep my energy up for my morning runs. I start at the office with a tea in the morning and I keep the water bottle close at hand for the rest of the day. I finish off the evening with a water bottle on hand. I have three water bottles that I alternately fill and keep in the refrigerator so I always have something cold to grab, with a refill chilling beside it.
I say keep it close at hand and sip, sip, sip. It will become habit soon enough.0 -

I'm the same, if I'm not nudged into it, so what I have done is set up an hourly alarm (with suitable dingaling) on my mobile. I haven't quite managed to get to the full 8 glasses yet, but not far off, as sometimes I feel so bloated I just can't manage anymore. Hope this strategy works for you. Also I would just like to say that I have learnt the cost of not hydrating as I went through a spate of infections whilst dehydrated, so you need to think of your health in this respect too. Good luck.0

I bring a hillbilly lunch kit to work: basically mason jars of tea. I make different kinds every day, but favorites are Celestial Seasonings Tiger tea, and a mixture of Acaia berry, Pomegranite, and Red Zinger. Works for me.

An hourly alarm would be an awesome idea if my office allowed that. But maybe a silent one and when I look at my phone it can be a reminder. Thank you for the tip.0 -

I drink four to seven 8-ounce glasses of fluids a day, depending on what food I have and how much I sweat.0

Am I Hydrated Chart:

The chart works unless you are taking B-vitamins as they make urine dark.0 -
I start every meal with a 16 - oz glass of room temperature water. I drink that first before I eat. That's 6 of my 8 8 - oz servings right there. Then it's not so hard to get in one or two more.0
