Welcome and good job with getting your steps in and trying to get healthier!

I got in a little over 12,500 exercise miles in yesterday. Getting ready to lace up my shoes and walk some more. :)

I like walking but it doesn't do enough for me fitness wise for the time investment. Hiking is better thanks to elevation gain, but harder to fit into every day life for me. Running is for me... perfect. Great calorie burn, high return on time invested when it comes to cardiopulmonary fitness.

I hated running (what is a "jog"?) when I was dead slow and my lungs burned. In other words, I hated running / jogging when I sucked at it.

I don't suck at running now, and I love it.

I miss running! But my knees and hips don't!

Ha! mwyvr, I knew you would like hiking, you live in a perfect city for it. All those beautiful mountains surrounding you.

    Cheers, h.

    Sorry for the interruption OP.

In my post I put "12,500 exercise miles". LOL

I power walk a lot and I'm fast, but not that fast. haha! Should have said steps not miles.

Good job everyone with getting in your miles or steps whether it's from walking or running. :)

Walking is awesome. I was able to run my first 5k with two months of power walking, and no running, prior to the race. Just make sure you get your walking speed up high enough to elevate your heart rate.

You guys are all great. I wish I had mountains to look at. Today was not so good of a day for me, I only did 14491 in steps today. I slacked a bit. Had. Wedding to attend.
