so my kids and i walked to kaiser on tuesday to pick up my depression meds and i guess we somehow contracted a virus or the flu. my kids have been spewing from both ends since saturday and are finally feeling better today. i refuse to throw up so i've just been dealing with the other end. sorry. lol. i know that's tmi. however, i feel fine and i'm energetic and i'm still able to eat but i have a much smaller appetite. anyways, i'm on vacation with my parents, my kids, my little sis and my nephews and the thing i'm super looking forward to is weighing in at home wednesday morning. haha! yes, it's very twisted but i was already at 200lbs and looking forward to being 199 and now i know that 199 is DEFINITELY a possibility! :-)
anyone else ever get excited about unexpected weight loss?

thats pretty gross lol...but whatever works haha. i've had you on my friends list for a long time but i dont think we have ever really had a conversation...i just wanted to tell you that you seem to be doing an awsome job with your weight loss...i am starting out at 200...so where you are now, and I have the same goal to get down to about 140...since im only 5'2" my ideal weight should be around 115, but i would be more than happy to be back at 140. Would you be willing to lend me any tips you might have of how you have lost so much weight already...i know everyone has their own things, but i guess i havent found mine yet so im definetely open to suggestions...keep up the great work! you are a great motivator!!0

Well, I HAVE always thought that was the only upside to being sick, lol.
When I had my daughter I was 183 pounds the day I left the hospital. I didn't drop down to 170 until nearly a year later when over the course of 2 months I had 3 nasty bouts of the flu and 2 chicken pox vaccines. So, I was miserable, but the upside was I lost 13 pounds without even trying. AND, I never gained it back.0 -
When I went through radiation last year i lost 30 pounds. I'm 5'7 and got down to 100 or so. The doctors threatened me with feeding tubes and I was hospitalized for malnutrition.
Before I got that low, however, there was two weeks where I was at 115, my goal weight. If I hadn't been so sick I would have been pumped!0 -

Thanks! I have done so many diets and pills and stupid stuff over the years. It finally just got to the point where I was just tired of being fat and I was tired of trying to starve myself skinny because it was actually making me fat! SO, I eat 1200 calories every day and of those calories the majority are fruits and veggies. however, the only way i can be happy with 1200 calories a day is by still eating the things i love. so a lot of mornings i have pancakes with the kids. i get krusteaz and i make the kids their pancakes first. then after i've served them i make mine. i do 1/2 cup of krusteaz pancake mix, 3 teaspoons cinnamon, 1 tbsp of fiber powder and then mix and cook. it's only 200 calories and the butter is "i can't believe it's not butter" spray which is 0 calories and then i use light syrup which is 100 calories for 1/4 cup (and i rarely use the full 1/4 cup). snacks are fruit or veggies. lunch is usually a sandwich. one of the safeway brands for wheat bread is only 110 calories for 2 slices so i use that, plus deli meat (which is usually around 10 calories a slice) and light may mirable whip and mustard and lettuce. and i only have one. and then snack is usually fruits and veggies. dinner is usually salad with raw veggies and 2oz of whole wheat pasta with 1/2 cup of pasta sauce. all of that comes out to 1200 calories. :-) and weekends i always allow myself up to 1500 calories. oh and i lost 16 of the 20 lbs all without exercise. i broke my foot about 10 weeks ago, was in a cast for 5 weeks and recovering and letting my foot fully heal for the last 5 weeks. and in those 5 weeks i lost 20lbs :-) the only thing i'm doing now for exercise is walking. i'll eventually work back up to doing turbo fire but for now i'm happy with the progress! oh and the BIGGEST thing that helps me is that i always take my time eating. i always put my fork down and savor the flavors and enjoy the meal. plus, with 2 kids under 3 i don't always get to eat my meal all at once. there are times i will eat half my sandwich and not get to eat the other half for like an hour. :-)
i hope this helps! i really believe the only way to lose weight and keep it off is by actually enjoying what you're eating and just keeping the portions small. and drink a ton of water. i also love vitamin water zero. :-) good luck! and just so you know...i would have never guessed you were 200. you do not look it at all! i was 200.8lbs saturday morning. i have been super good with my food so i'm hoping i'll be 199 when i get home! :-) i'm 5'5" and i started out at 252.8lbs back in 2007. but i stalled out at 220.8lbs this past year. i got down to 180 in 2007 and again in 2009 but got pregnant immediately after reaching my goal both times. lol. so my baby is now 15 months old and i'm FINALLY losing weight. better late then never. :-) good luck hon!0 -

i sure hope so too but i don't think it is. plus, we don't eat sprouts and they're the cause of it...also, my son and daughter are looking MUCH better and no vomit since 9 am this morning. but now my nephew and dad have it. blah.0 -
thanks, that is some great advice and i think i will try and use your eating regimin for a while and see how it works for me I can see why you wouldnt think i looked like i was 200lbs in my pict...because i wasnt...those pictures are from high school and i just hate what i look like now so i use those...but i did post an updated picture that was taken only a month ago just now, so if you want to take a look at that one, maybe you might have a different opinon lol thanks again for all the great advice!0

you're about my size and you know what, you should still rock it. love every size you are no matter what. i remember so many times thinking i was too fat and then looking back in pics and thinking "damn, i looked good!" so i ALWAYS love my size no matter what.
i should put up a full body pic. i don't know that i have one though. hmmm...i'll have to look. anyways, you're on the right path. you actually want to lose weight and are aware of your short comings. so just try it out and stick to it and always remember to drink water if you're hungry. sometimes you're really thirsty. :-)0 -
