Hi everyone! Thought I would post to see if there is anyone else in recovery from bulimia on here. While I'm happy with how recovery is going (9 months since last relapse), weight has been an ongoing issue as I never managed to develop and stick to a healthy lifestyle. Would be great to be in touch with others in a similar position- add me if you're up for it.
Hope everyone is doing well

I know that whenever I was trying to re-establish myself I had the worst acid reflux, still did until a year ago. It's right at my 10 year anniversary this year. What happened a year ago is I adopted a vegan (plant based diet). After 7 days by gastrointestional issues were completely gone. I've never felt so completely satisfied and happy and pain free in my life.
I wish you best of luck on your new journey.0 -
So glad to hear you've recovered and looking to live a healthy lifestyle - Amazing achievement in itself so well done. There are a lot of people here who have battled or are still dealing with 'food issues' be it in the form of eating disorders or just a general unhealthy relationship with food. I am one of them.
I can honestly say that the MFP community has kept me on the straight and narrow and educated me about the entire weight loss process. I've also come to learn that health and happiness is extremely, extremely important. That being said, entering into a 'diet' plan when you have had past unhealthy tendencies always needs to be done with extreme caution. Consult your doctor or therapist, explain your plans and keep in regular contact with your support system. It is very easy to let the mind take over sometimes so my advice to you is - always, always be aware of how you are feeling and trust in yourself and your strength. Best of luck0 -
thanks everyone! I've been in another country and without health care for a while. Might talk about it with a doctor if I build up the courage... Though the acid reflux is mainly gone. I had a slip up in december but had been doing well with recovery for a few months before. Did anyone else find alcohol caused really bad stomach pain in recovery? I'm over it now, but it made uni social life pretty difficult...0
