Has anyone tried the vanilla or chocolate flavors? I'm thinking of trying one today, but can't afford both. If anyone has tried these let me know. I can only buy those because I have a small gift card for Prime Now with same day delivery and it's about the exact amount of the powder. Thank you for any info! Also, I read it is gross without a blender and good with one so let me know if you used one or just stirred it?

I use the chocolate vega protein powder and I use a blender. I love it. I only use vegan protein powders so I can't tell you how it is compared to normal ones but this one is my favourite by far of what I've tried. :p

I've never used it without a blender, but I've used both the chocolate and vanilla and really like both. I never drink them just as shakes - I always add a banana or some frozen fruit so I would say that the flavor you choose has to do more with how you're planning on using the powder. The vanilla is nice and mild to mix with other things.

Hi Verity, I use VegaOne french vanilla (I don't like the chai vanilla) or Paleomeal DF vanilla at the recommendation of my Doctor. I have a health condition that is controlled by a very restrictive diet. If you don't have food sensitivities I suggest you try RAW (Garden of Life), which is significantly more affordable (It is legally labelled GF but it contains enough trace elements that some people react to it). I find them all very palatable even when simply mixed with water, but then again "beggars can't be choosers". I'm not exactly qualified to judge flavor - I have to eat what I can, not what I choose.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions :) I'm just torn on vanilla vs chocolate.

I tried the vanilla today and it was so bad I poured my smoothie out. It had a terribly chalky mouth feel. I do plan to try again tomorrow, but with a different shake combination. The vanilla flavor in and of itself wasn't that bad though.

I have both at home, and my family prefers chocolate, probablybecause the cocoa disguises the green in their smoothies. We mainly use it in baking. Chocolate anything gets a few scoops.

Vanilla is okay. I only use it in some baking but I need cocoa too because it's green. Green muffins... not so good.

I would say go with chocolate.

I hated all of the vega powders and shakes. Just not for me, not only did I not love the flavour, but I never felt great after having them, gave it to my sister in law who loves them. I think it is a matter of taste. I have seen small samples at stores, pick up a few and give them a try for yourself.

I don't really care for the vanilla. I have never tried the chocolate. They are too expensive for me to try multiple flavors also. I am still trying to get through my tub of the vanilla by hiding it in overnight oats and really fruit packed or peanut butter smoothies. It dissolves really well but it still tastes chalky and oddly sweet.

Thank you for the opinions everyone :) I know it had stevia and that threw me off some, but I still ordered the chocolate. I'll try it later today and let you know how it goes. I appreciate all of the advice!

I've tried most of the vega products and love them all- I'd go with vanilla it's more versatile and if you want want chocolate add a tbs of good organic cocoa and some caocao nibs :)

I like added them to my smoothies but they are fine as a post workout shake - I prefer to make them with non dairy milk over water.
