Ok this is all seeming to surreal

Ok so I am in kind of a weird headspace right now. I am a little over 1/4 of the way to my goal in a little under 4 months. I am not saying it has been easy but it feels that way. It is like I keep thinking that I am going to wake-up tomorrow and I will be where I was on February 13th. I mean I know in theory that I can totally do this but it just doesn't feel really real. Has anyone else had that feeling? Like you are waiting for the other shoe to drop or something??? I don't know but it is so strange. Maybe because this is my very first really real attempt to do this and it is working so well that I am feeling like this.....maybe it is that I have never been "healthy" or "thin" in my entire life that I just can't let go of the image of a fat me....I just don't know....
thoughts? comments?
ps oh great my first post and I realize after I post that I used to instead of too....oh well what do you expect from an English major! :blushing:

wow! you've lost 72 pounds! That is awesome!
I know sometimes it must feel like all a dream and you'll wake up and it will be back...but it's GONE. REALLY gone!
Embrace it and celebrate, and keep working toward your goal!
Congrats!0 -

Lisa, I KNOW what you are going through. I have tried for YEARS and YEARS to lose weight and keep it off. Nothing ever worked. Since I came here, it just clicked and it works. I haven't lost as much as you have since joining MFP, but it DOES almost seem too easy!
I'm finally at a point where my body almost doesn't feel like my own anymore. I know that sounds strange, but that's just how it feels. I haven't been this weight since before I got pregnant in 1982. I'm curious what I'm going to look like--besides the obvious skinny, saggy old broad.
When we're losing a LOT of weight, it can get very trippy. That's the only word I can think of to describe this feeling. You used surreal. That's also a good word. Just go with it. The other shoe is NOT going to drop---unless it gets so big you lose it or walk right out of it. You are doing fabulous! Your mind will catch up with your body soon. Just take it as it comes and enjoy it. Don't worry. You're obviously very intelligent and you KNOW all this. Relax and enjoy the new you!0 -

Backatcha! I'm glad that we're on this trip at the same time! :flowerforyou:0 -
I know, I get this panic every morning that I am not going to get into my new sized jeans, that somehow all the weight will have crept back on overnight.0

I remember when I went from 280 - 210 in 7 months. I didn't feel like I was doing anything different, just attending 2 spin classes twice a week. I still felt exactly the same, but my clothes had gotten bigger. That was 6 years ago and I still have the fat kid mentality.0

Lisa, you are one of my most inspiring mfp friends, you should be so proud of yourself! :flowerforyou:
And I think what you're feeling is normal, but as long as you stay on top of things like you have been there is no way that other shoe will drop!! <3you!0 -
You'll be just fine Lisa. So long as you send me sexy pictures of yourself every day and say "thank you Walt for all your help."
Or you could except the fact that you kick *kitten* and we are all proud of you! Either way I'm happy ha ha!!

Lisa you are a total rock star! I know where you are coming from. Today I reached my 1/4 mark and it does feel like wow why did I wait until now to do this, wait what is the catch, when I step on the scale the next time will it all be back?
I think this site has been what I was waiting for. No gimick, no fad diet plan. Just a world of great MFP Family memebrs to give and receive support. A plan of action that helps me look at my self in an honest light. Not always pretty, but I know I need to see it. So I will be forever thankful for you for being part of that support. We got this! It is real! No do overs, or turning back now. :flowerforyou:0 -
youre freaking awesome! that is why you are doing so great!!
and a great supporter, i must add!!

I t is a process and you are DOING it! You are committed! I am so proud of you.
PS...I love that you just obsessed about the wrong usage of to and too :laugh:0 -
Thanks to everyone for their comments! It is nice to know that I am not the only one that worries about this and that others get this feeling too. I am constantly reminding myself that everything is working and that I am not going to go backwards. I guess I am not only changing my diet but retraining my brain!0
