I can see my step going from fitbit to mfp but not my exercise. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing. As far as I understand it, it doesn't transfer; just the overall calorie out, which adjusts your MFP allowance.

So it only works Myfitness pal to fitbit, but not the other way?
Also, yesterday mfp showed fitbit steps and today it doesn't. Do you know why that is?
I don't think I like this app, it doesn't do what it says it will or it is just to erratic.

I'm not sure what you're looking for. If you have Fitbit set up to sync to MFP, it'll show up at the bottom of your diary in the mobile app as Cardio Exercise as "Fitbit Calorie Adjustment." It doesn't show up on the website unless you go to the exercise section. And in both cases, this only when you've taken enough steps that you've "earned" extra calories above your goal in MFP. In the mobile app there is a "Steps" option on the sidebar, but I've never activated it, since I don't see the reason to have MFP. But it seems to sync step data over, if that's what you want.

I find MFP useful as a food log, and Fitbit useful as an activity log. I have them synced to each other to keep that data together, so that the Fitbit is pulling info on my food from MFP, and look at all of the raw data in Fitbit to compare my calorie consumption to what I'm burning.

MFP works great for what it was made for -- calorie counting and food database stuff. It's syncing with other apps always seems to work fine, but can seem extraneous.

It's normally really reliable, but my Fitbit hasn't synced for a week now, so it's not showing up in MFP. I'm using an iPhone with iOS 9, and Fitbit brought out an update suspiciously timed with it no longer syncing. Perhaps yours is doing something similar. Tomorrow I'm going to plug my Fitbit into the laptop and follow the instructions for restarting it.
