Complete Meltdown!!

I don't know what happened. I was off work yesterday, so I took the family downtown, Chicago and completely lost my mind. Then ended up eating a giant fried shrimp poor boy sandwich and every single french fry, 2/3rds of a large thin cheese and pepperoni pizza, washed down with about 9 beers, over a 12 hours’ time period folks, no intervention needed here.
All that along with no workout, accept walking around the city the whole day.
Now I feel like total crap. How the hell do you recover from a day like that? Maybe I should just throw in the towel and head to Krispy Kreme for lunch.

Depending on how long you have been on your current diet one day shouldnt hurt it that much and might acutally help shock your system, the best thing you can do IMO is just pick right back up where you left off on your diet avoid frispy kreme at all cost.0 -
You go: "well that was a fun spike day to keep my metabolism guessing! Now back to my normal routine, where I eat well for about 90% of the time"
and accept that you're a human being, not a robot. Hope you built some good family memories to look back on and smile0 -
Nobody's perfect. We all get off track every now and then. What you need to do is accept it and get back on track.0

Just chalk it up to a high calorie day that you enjoyed and get back on track today!! No need in blowing an entire program for one day!! Your body needs higher calories sometimes to appreciate the lower ones and let your body lose the weight! Don't give up!!!!0
-
You should be good to go for today!! Maybe a day of fasting is in order LOL.:ohwell: Do some extra workouts today and get back on track.0

Remember that only today matters today. Not yesterday. Yesterday's choices do not predetermine today. I ate wonderfully yesterday. Doesn't mean I will automatically do so today. But you better believe I will try!0

Krispy Kreme was kind of a joke. Could never eat that stuff. I guess your right, I have been really working on my calorie counting for about 2 weks now. I have been counting every little thing, and just lost it yesterday. Back to the gym today to lift and run. Thanks for your kind words!!0

ahh man! I miss downtown chicago!! I need to take a trip soon. Dont have a melt down. things happen and you cant control the past. you can only control today.0

Throwing in the towel is the easy answer, the better stronger answer is to forget about it and today is a new day and get back on track. Maybe have a long walk or some other sort of excerise to feel better. I had 3 BBQ's over the weekend and I over ate at everyone but that was the weekend and I have been back on tract since yesterday.0

Okay, so it wasn't the best day...It is in the PAST...Don't think about what you did, or what you didn't do. Today is a new day! Add 10 more minutes to each workout this week! Indulging one day is okay...indulging everyday of the week probably isn't a good idea.
No worries, upward and onward for you!:)
God bless0 -
just get back on track today. :-) you did a bit of a zig zag without trying so who knows, maybe this will help you lose weight better. your body needs to keep guessing and you sure shocked it so you'll be fine. and the weight you initially gain from consuming so much is just water weight. we've all had those days and i'm sure most of us dropped right back down.0

Don't forget to drink tons of water to flush out the sodium!0

Great memories! My 4 year old wadded in lake Michigan for the first time. She was born in Sarasota Florida, so the water must have seemed very cold to her! Very good times.
Thanks!0 -
Good advice, I will remember that for next time, wait there can't be a next time!! I will drink plenty of water just in case.0

You were in Chicago so you had to eat like crazy and drink beer. It is the American way!:bigsmile:0

This is some great advice!!! I find those "high calorie days" are foods that are SO high in sodium!! (Especially when I do mexican as my "treat") I can really feel it too!! Just drink plenty of WATER and even eat some of those fruits that help "flush" you out (i.e. watermelon and grapefruit)0
