Has anyone ever used a coffee mug to make eggs for egg mcmuffin and do you need to add any oil for them not to stick. Thanks

I have. I sprayed the mug with cooking spray.

spray them with oil or cooking spray. also be sure to pop the yolk. I've forgotten a couple of times and always ended up with a egg rocket. you may want to put a paper towel over the cup too. it helps minimize the mess as the egg pops and sputters

For some reason I never had good luck with mugs; growing up I always used a particular pyrex cup like this:

I actually don't remember having it stick, but the mug debacles always stuck. I have no idea what the difference was with just using a different dish.

I usually use a bowl. I don't use oil spray (I don't trust the '0 calorie' claims) and it sticks a little but it's not a huge deal, I just scrape it off.

I've had horrible luck with not spraying. like had to throw out cups.
i now use a bowl because it fits on my sandwich better

^^This. Just rinse or let it soak right after you finish. It makes clean up a lot easier.

+1 for the little pyrex bowls. Perfect size!

I love that I can microwave eggs and a sausage patty and make a breakfast sandwich in under a minute.

My husband never does it. Then it doesn't wash properly in the dishwasher! Definitely let it soak and wash it by hand first...

And yeah, it makes making breakfast sandwiches or burritos a breeze!

For how long do you "nuke" an egg or two?

One of my MFP peeps just informed me of microwaving eggs. I've done it the past few mornings...I use one whole egg and three whites, whip with fork, put in micro for 1 min. I had to stir a little for fluffing...and another 20 sec. I tried with added milk to it and they were way too watery even when they were "done". I added some shredded cheese right after taking them out. I don't spray my bowl, but I might next time....I let the dish soak, but I still end up using my gentle scrubber sponge on it to completely remove the residue.

Hungry Girl has a bunch of egg mug recipes if anyone is interested.

I also just microwave an egg with some egg whites...sunny side up....or possibly over easy...for a minute and 5 seconds. It usually makes the yolk hardish instead of runny. This way I don't miss out on any yolk yumminess.

I make microwave eggs every morning, like them because there's no crunchy overcooked edges and super fast to make. I don't use any spray and they come out fine for me. I use this or a big coffee mug walgreens.com/store/c/telebrands-stone-wave-microwave-cooker/ID=prod6203493-product Don't usually buy "Seen on tv" items but this one does work.

Scrambled - 1 minute, stir, 30 seconds, stir, 30 seconds if needed and leave in microwave for a couple minutes.
Over medium - 1 minute 30 seconds, stir, 20 seconds, take out immediately
"hard boiled" - 2 minutes, leave in microwave for couple minutes
Cover if you are making anything other than scrambled!

I use a coffee mug to make scrambled eggs. I don't bother spraying or using oil. I just soak it when finished and it's easy enough to clean. I start with 45 seconds and test it...some microwaves take longer than others.

That scrambled is one minute stir and then 30 SECONDS, right? ;-)

yup :) I make/reheat instant rice in it, oatmeal, steam veggies, anything. Had it for two years before I realized how useful it is. I actually want to buy another one so I have a spare.

I usually just take my egg and egg white mixture (or just one or the other), whisk it up in a small circular tupperware container, microwave for a minute, stir, then microwave for another minute until it's cooked and in one egg "patty" that fits perfectly on an English muffin.

I recently discovered that you can crack eggs into a muffin tin, bake them, and store them in a container for up to a week. I found this online and tried it out last week, just microwaving them for about 30 seconds before putting on my breakfast sandwich - it totally worked! And that way I get to keep a slightly runny yolk instead of having it scrambled or in "patty" form.

40 seconds for one egg for me... it's 1100w.

I can't even imagine how overcooked it would be for 1.5 minute. I don't even stir... lol.

I make 2 eggs plus an egg white! lol, that would be too long for one egg
