Hey guys,

I have done both P90X and half of insanity. I figured halfway through Insanity that P90X provided much better weight lifting routines and Insanity provided much better Cardio. So i did a little research online and found a terrific blended program that I have been using for two days now. I am tracking my diet closely because I would like to lose around 10 pounds of fat and gain a few pounds of muscle. Basically I would like to look trimmed and bigger.

My question to anyone who knows...is there a breakdown by DVD that shows an average of how many calories burned i can record into my fitness tracker. I there any similar exercises I can put in to closely match what I am doing strength training wise and cardio?

Any help or recommendations would be great!

Thanks,

Andy

pretty sure you would track that as circuit training... mix of cardio and strength exercises. huge calorie blast- circuit training is.

I don't think it's circuit training. That would be doing a few minutes of strength, a few minutes of cardio, then repeating. He's doing some days strength, some days cardio, etc (correct me if I am wrong).

Your best bet is to buy a heart rate monitor. That is the only way you can accurately see how much you are burning. You can try to find a similar exercise in the database, but it is often not accurate for everyone.

only true way is to use your HRM. if you don't have one I would say go get one that you can afford. since everyone burns calories at a different rate and your intensity might be different than say mine, a HRM will give you the most accurate account of how many calories you are burning for each workout.

Unfortunately, a HRM is the only way to get an accurate count. There are so many factors that go into calories burned. I'm on my last week of Insanity and I would give you my avergae burn per DVD, but the fact that you're male and most likely bigger than me (I'm only 5'0") means your numbers would be completely different.
