  • I just switched from Nike Air Pegasus to Asics (forget the model). Loved the Nikes. Not sure about the Asics yet...

New balance are good. But I recommend going to a running store and being fitted. I bought some Reebok run tone shoes bc I heard a lot of people say good things. Well, they dont fit me well and I hurt my leg because of it.

Mizuno....don't know where you live, but after you find what you are looking for, if you have a Rogans, check there. They had BOGO. They were $100 but with the BOGO, you save half on a second pair so it is a good deal.

If you have a running store near you, I would recommend getting fitted. It can make all the difference in the world. I run in Brooks now but was using New Balance before I got fitted. I like both but the Brooks help with my knee pain.

Personally, I would recommend to not take anyone's recommendation. Go to a good running store and get personally fitted. It won't be that much more expensive and you'll know you have the right show for your foot, gait, etc.

I LOVE minimalist shoes (5-Fingers, Nike Free, etc).

But check out this article. http://running.competitor.com/2010/12/shoes-and-gear/2010-winter-running-shoe-review_19117

I'd recommend finding a shoe store that will fit you with a pair of shoes that suits your needs. NB are good shoes, but they might not be the shoe for you.

I totally endorse ASICS and Brooks. They are going to be higher end shoes but if you have any concerns with support (arch or otherwise) I would look into investing. They are SO worth the money! I have found with the types of foot problems that I have, I have to invest in better quality shoes and these two brands do not disappoint. They are well made, some models are very light weight, they have larger toe boxes so your toes can spread out, they breathe well and have great cushion/support.

If you are going to get shoes like this, I recommend the Reelflexs, they're a lot more flexible than the Nike Frees and the Adidas CoolRuns

I just got a new pair of running shoes on Friday and I absolutely love them. They're Adidas adizeros. They're super lightweight and come in really cute bright colors! Pretty stable and sturdy also.

I love my Asics. I was fitted for them, so like the others on this post I recoomend doing the same. So much comes into play like how high your arch is, your stride, how much you weigh, etc. But dont overthink it. Get a pair you like and just start running
