At home Cardio Recommendations

I am starting to realize that the 30 Day Shred and Yoga Meltdown are just not cutting it. I need to burn more calories but don't have the option to get out of the house very often.

Does anyone have any recommendations for some at home cardio.. be it DVD's or something I can do on my own.

    hi!

well, what I've done for years is dance! Yep, right here in my own living room. My favorite music and my own styles. It's fun, free and I can make it as "aerobic" and heart pounding as I need to.

I have used many, many DVD's (go to collagevideo.com for many suggestions and you can see clips too) but I prefer to groove in my own ways.

    Good luck!

I would recommend checking out www.collagevideo.com... It has a ton of dvds, breakdowns and reviews.

I personally like Turbo Fire, Turbo Jam, Leslie Sansone, Jackie Warner, P90X, etc.. I would say find something that you like and will stick with... :)

That would be fun. I have ZUmba for the Wii and have turned it on a few times but I am finding it boring. I think the actually DVD's might be a little more exciting.

I don't know if you have stairs but I go up and down my stairs for a good 30 minutes. I jog in place while watching my favorite talk show or tv show for 30 minutes of it and cool down for the last half hour... Just some suggestions. :) I'm just starting out too and not sure if it working yet or not but it gets my heart rate up. Good luck and I hope you get some more suggestions.

Leslie Sansone 5 mile slim down.
You can choose to do 1 mile, 2 miles, etc., or the whole DVD.
Lots of different movements and it makes you sweat!
    Good Luck!

I really like that idea and I am sure my little guy too. He is going to be 2 next month so it is hard to do exercise other than when he is napping. (That is when I do the shred.) He loves to dance so dancing around in the living room would work for both of us,

    Thanks everyone for the suggestions!!

  • I'm really only commenting because I love your username. One of my best friends has used that nickname for me since high school!
I'm not much help as I don't like to work out at home because my kids can't leave me alone and it's really difficult to break up a sibling squabble from a treadmill. But I have done 30 day shred and I would just do all three circuits in one workout. I felt like that was a pretty good workout and you could probably get it done during naptime.

"The Firm" DVDs are awesome! they have several options (I bought a boxed set) so you have a couple that are quick 20 minute workouts, and a couple that are over an hour!! I promise if you follow the schedule you will see a difference within a week!!
