eating more or eating less.

Now, before anyone gets confused and lost. This post is about people who eat 6 small meals a day versus people who eat the traditional "breakfast, lunch and dinner". I am the type that is the traditional person. I don't really snack at all and i have set times when i eat (unless i am busy). But from what someone else has posted and from other views, someone told me eating 6 small meals a day is much healthier way to go when wanting to lose weight instead of the 3 main meals.
does anyone else agree with this logic? & is this true? or does this just depend on calories needed and the specific person and how active they are? which is what i assumed!

No, it's not logical at all - and everyone should just follow whatever eating pattern suits them best.
I prefer 4 meals a day.0 -
OP, 6 meals a day is a good suggestion if you are the type of person who is hungry all the time. Keeps you from over eating, consuming correct amount of calories per day. It does not speed up your metabolism (people will tell you this), or any healthier for you to eat 6 compared to 3.
If you are happy with 3 meals a day, then please do that instead. You have to work with your body and habits, not against it. I eat 4xs a day, as well- breakfast, lunch, dinner at work, and another (small) dinner when I get home from work around 10pm.0 -

Yes people have told me that, and thank you for sharing. I definiately will stick with what i am doing now but its nice to hear other peoples perspectives and reasoning!0 -
I would stick with what works for you. I personally eat about every 2 hours. When I eat big meals I feel to bloated and uncomfortable so I keep meals small and stretch them out through the day.0

I eat once a day during the week as that's what I prefer with work and kids etc. Do whatever suits you.0

Doesn't matter 3 vs 6, as long as calorie total same. One could argue 3 is better than 6 because 6 keeps insulin elevated longer, causing more fat storage. Six of one, half dozen of another. Either is fine.0

When I ate more carbs I needed to eat every 2-3 hours or I felt poorly because of blood sugar fluctuations. Now that I eat LCHF, I can easily go 4-8 hours between meals, and skip eating until noon.
I think the number of meals can be influenced by what someone is eating.0
