Hi there everyone I'm totally new to this whole healthy eating/dieting whatever u want to call it. I've never had to watch what I've eaten before but after my 3rd child I've got about a stonne to loose not even threw baby weight I gained but constant snacking no time for meals and heading to the sugary snacks to keep me awake during night feeds :( I'm sure alot of u can relate lol, so I'm only 4 days in and I am struggling abut not due to feeling hungry or wanting more good but the opposite I feel I'm eating sooo much! And not always meeting my 1200 calorie goal :( my carbs still seem quiet high although I have made some switches but I need to get my fat and protein percentage up and carbs down a bit only one day I was bang on, my app is telling me if I continue how I am I will have lost 10 pounds in 5 weeks which is amazing but I doubt it, guess I will just have to stay positive! I haven't started any exercise yet as I have 3 children under the age of 5 to attend to and a house to run so do get a bit of exercise, but I will start next week. Any tip anyone could give me would be great on better things to eat as I am bit rubbish at that tend to just stick to salad and chicken, I mix it up a bit but not loads I don't want to get bored and give up also please can someone reassure me eating this amount of food as long as I don't go over 1,200 cals is ok and I won't put on more pounds... Good luck to u all :)

    Hi - Welcome! :)

First of all, what are your stats, if you dont mind me asking? 1200 is the lowest of the lowest you can go calorie-wise. I'm 5 ft 2, 125 lbs and I lose weight on around 1500-1600 calories. Of course exercise plays a part in allowing me a little more calories but I'm pretty sure you could eat more than what you are. This needs to be sustainable after all! :)

Wishing you the best of luck.

Hi thanks for ur reply I'm also 5.2 but im. 131.6 pounds and my aim is to loose bout 11 pounds and quick! I think my calorie intake target has been set low as I ticked I would love to loose 2lb a week which may seem unrealistic to some but I do tend to loose weight quickly. I find it really hard to eat more as like I said I used to have 1 main meal a day and snack on crap so fitting in 3 meals a day plus snacks I feel I've done so well but I think I need some advice on higher calorie meals or snacks but also healthy so I don't feel like I'm constantly eating, I'm scared that once I start exercising which starts tomorow :( I'm going to burn more calories which is great but does that mean I will have to eat more? Thanks

2 pounds a week is doable. Look in the recipes so you don't get bored.

Yes. If you are exercising, you'll need to eat back your calories earned (MFP generally recommends eating back around 50-75% of your exercise calories). 1200 is what you would be expected to consume if you were doing no exercise at all and spent the entire day sedentary.
