I'm having a hard time staying on track in October. It will be 1 year since my Father passed away October 19th, due to brain cancer. I'm still very much in the grief process as I was with him when he went

Grief can feel like a mini-death at times. It's like I put off all those things that keep me vital and alive. Like eating, getting enough rest, laughing, play. Can you turn grief in to a memorial of your father's death, honoring him by modelling the best of who he was?0

I'm so sorry for your loss. :-(
Sometimes in life you just need to do whatever it takes to feel happy so don't beat yourself up if you need to treat yourself to a few of your favorite things to cheer you up. Maybe think of some meals that you and your Dad would enjoy together and celebrate your happy memories of him. When your mood lightens then turn your focus back to feeling healthy.0 -
Thanks everyone. It's almost been one year but feels like yesterday. I am trying very hard to always record my food, water, and I'm moving more. I'm down almost 7 pounds so that's a start. Before he fell ill, I'd lost 60 pounds....he was so proud of me. Throughout his illness and passing, I just didn't care, and it's all back (minus the 7 pounds). So I'm trying to make him proud of me now, even though he's gone.0

@FitSkye80 I find that memorable people are with me always. My beloved stepmom whom I lost to cancer years ago, I still hear her voice when I dress in the morning, "For God's sake J, wear something with some color in it!"
Maybe it will help imagining him cheering you on when you hit a milestone.0 -
That's so helpful. Thank you. You're right, it does help. I'm so sorry for anyone else feeling this pain. Grief is such a roller coaster ride of emotions.0
