Different gym bikes??

I've been using the bike at the gym regularly.
Now I'm wondering if I'm using the correct one!
1. looks like you are "lower to the ground" where your legs go more in front of you
2. looks like your legs go basically straight underneath your body (normal bike)
Which bike is meant for what???
