PureGym Pure Loser Weight Loss Course

Hi

Has anyone completed or is doing the 6 week Pure Loser Course that PureGym offer? I'm at the end of the first 2 weeks and I've actually gained 2lbs.
I've cut out the wheat, dairy, alcohol, caffeine, fats etc that is on the banned list and I'm eating 5 to 6 small meals/snacks a day with at least 2 pints of water.
Week 1 - Trainer advised us to do 5 minutes of HIT on the bike one the first week. However as a suffered of exercise induced Asthma this didn't go down well with me but I tried it on 3 gym occasions.
Week 2 - Session was cancelled so I saw another Trainer who actually knew nothing about the Pure Loser class. But he gave me a little circuit to do to train my Glutes up first rather than going in and hitting cardio full on.

So i've been doing that, along with the 'detox', yet my stomach feels bigger than when I started! No idea what I'm doing wrong and quite frankly the original trainer is no help either as he never answers my emails.

Just wondered did it actually work for anyone else?

    I'm not familiar with the course...but based on some of the things you've outlined, and the words you've used I'm going to say it's a completely worthless course designed only to pocket your money.

    Any diet that has a "banned list" of foods, promotes a "detox" and says you have to eat a certain number of meals per day is a diet that you should want no part of.

    Diet type is preference only. What's most important to weight loss is eating at a calorie deficit.

    How many calories are you eating?

    Do you weigh you food? Log all you food?

    Do you eat exercise calories back and, if so, where do you get those burns from?

    What are your stats?
  • Sorry, never tried this particular diet but any 'diet' that cuts out the foods that I like, doesn't sound like one I would like to participate in.

    Why cut out certain foods? Just eat the foods you already like while eating in a deficit and you'll be golden.

    I'm wondering what marketing genius came up with a name like "Pure Loser."

    Forget the detox, forget the trainer who doesn't return email. Cut some calories, burn some extra. You'll be all set.

    If you're gaining weight, you're eating too many calories, whether they're calories from the "good" list or the banned list.

    I did it a long time ago and only lasted two weeks. It isn't worth the money. I was told what to eat and "exercise" and had no other help apart from that. eat healthy food, eat higher calorie foods in moderation and excercise and you will start seeing results.

    So many red flags here. I don't want to be discouraging, but I think you should pretty much do the opposite of almost everything that they are telling you, and I think you should see if you can get your money back. They clearly are not delivering what was promised, and you say that your trainer won't even return your calls.

    You don't need a "detox." Nobody needs a "detox."

    You can go ahead and put back into your diet all the foods they "banned." Its unnecessary and, clearly, its not helping.

    Usually banning foods helps create a calorie deficit. Since you didn't lose weight, you didn't create a deficit. You can eat the foods you like, just less of them.     I'm sure this is one of the free classes with the membership, so getting money back isn't an issue. I'd stop going to the class though - thankyou for this account of your experience though. I've recently joined the gym and I'll be staying away from this class!

    I just switched away from PureGym, can't speak for her place, but my PureGym deffo charges for the pure loser class. It's also complete hogwash.

    The only class I've seen which charge at my PureGym is zumba, although I haven't looked too thoroughly at the timetable so I may be wrong.

    Sorry didn't get any notifications of replies.
    Yeah I've sacked it in. Everything was small portions I. Ie handful of this and a matchbox size of that. The other girls in my group lost however they were 9st and 11 and quite frankly didn't need to lose any.
    But I think me not being able to do cardio is a problem. Trying to stick to my glute strengthening because that takes me to the verge of an asthma attack, but not half as bad as the cardio.
    But yeah I've given up, I'm destined to have a large roll of upper stomach fat! I've been a yo-yo dieter all my life, which often works but u always end up at square one. Probably just need to learn to love myself as I am!
