Any strength fanatics out there?

I consider myself a competitive powerlifter, but I'm interested in all strength/power sports. I'm thinking of starting strongman soon. I've also done a few mud runs.

Anybody share similar interests?

Haven't competed yet but train for powerlifting (gotta get my squats up). Not a lot of comps where I live. Now the other small forum I belong to is nothing but powerlifting competitors. They hit several throughout the year but mostly on the east coast.

You shouldn't worry about your lifts now. Just compete and get the experience.

I know. A couple factors have stopped me. One not a lot around here without traveling for hours and needing to stay overnight and two, seems I'm traveling for work when they do hold them.
I am looking around though and seeing which ones would fit into my schedule.

Different area of strength but I'm a body weight strength fanatic IE I do 800-1000 pull ups a week, deep squat box jumps, push ups at every angle/width you can think of and I love swinging/jumping from bar to bar on jungle gyms..

Bench specialist checking in. Looking forward to returning to full power mid next year, but until then, bench it is.

@Iron_Miss_Canada Sweet. So, How much ya bench?

82.5kg gym, 81 proven on the platform. Been working all my percentages off of a 90kg Max the last month and nailing everything. Including a sweet pin press double with 75% rom at 90kg on Monday. Currently begging for a max test but my coaches aren't biting.

@Iron_Miss_Canada That is an impressive bench. It sounds like you're confident enough to get it, but coaches usually know best.

I was an Olympic lifter for a while and have switched to powerlifting (though I still squat the Olympic lifting way).

@armylife I would enjoy Olympic lifting. The only thing that prevents me from doing so is the lack of facilities and coaches in my area.

I've done a good amount of strength work in the past, but I'm cutting back to a lean 90-92kg so I can enter the <94kg bracket for oly lifting.

Really love a good heavy deadlift and squat, but now my goal is less about size and more about CNS based strength for sports performance; really excited to start next year!

What numbers are you guys all squatting raw at the moment?

Yea I started and spent the first two years lifting on my own, it stunted my growth in the beginning. There is a natural limit to how well you can refine your own form through watching videos. After I found some good partners and a good coach my numbers jumped. I had lifted for quite a few years before starting Olympic lifting, but that was my first foray into pure strength/power work.
