I'm a bit confused about how many calories I should be eating everyday to lose fat.
I'm Female, 40 yrs old, 5'3", 80 kg (176 lbs) and I think I'm at about 40% body fat but not super sure about that.
Anyway, since November 2013 I've been exercising for an hour on average 4-5 times a week (weights, cardio, some functional exercises, occasional swimming and running) and eating pretty clean as well as tracking my calories via MyFitnessPal.
The first year I lost about 10-11 kg (22 lbs) (I was 90 kg when I started out)
But as of the last 12 months I seem to be stuck on 80 kg and the scale just isn't budging. I've been getting a lot of confusing information regarding how many calories I should be consuming.
MyFitnessPal gives me an allowance of 1470 per day. Also my trainers at my gym recommended that my daily intake should be about 1400-1450 calories and so that's what I've stuck to for the last year or so.
But when I wasn't losing any, I decided to do some research and I'm more confused now than when I began.
An online BMR calculator calculated my BMR as 1406 calories.
I've recently read about TDEE and various TDEE calculators have given me a reading of between 1800 and 2400 calories.
So the thing is now with so many numbers floating around, I honestly don't know what a healthy daily intake ought to be for me. So please if anyone can figure out if I'm eating enough or too much, it would be much appreciated.

If the scale isn't moving, that means that you are eating at your maintenance calorie level.
Are you using a food scale? If not, you may be eating more calories than you think you are eating.
Are you recording every single thing you eat or drink? Having "just a bite" here and there can add up.0 -
http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ Gave me:
1523- BMR
2094- TDEE (maintain your current weight)
1675 calories per day to lose 0.4kgs per week
Lightly Active.
All calculators are estimates, it will take trial and error to find your perfect numbers.
Make sure and use a food scale to log everything you eat, and use measuring cups for all liquids. Log everything that passes your lips honestly and accurately.0 -
1400-1700 would probably be ideal. 1700 more when working out loads0
